Towards AI Co-founder & CEO

My journey into AI began with a love for science fiction, which deepened with AlexNet's breakthrough in 2012. By 2018, convinced of AI’s transformative power, I transitioned to focus on AI startups. I’m especially passionate about using AI to advance biology, clean energy, and poverty solutions. As the CEO and Co-founder of Towards AI, my mission is to make AI accessible and impactful for individuals and organizations alike. Through our books, tutorials, and courses, I aim to bridge the gap between AI innovation and its practical application. I also write a weekly AI newsletter that connects with over 120,000 readers, keeping them informed on the latest developments in this rapidly evolving field. With a Physics degree from Imperial College and experience in Investment Research at J.P. Morgan, I bring a unique perspective on the disruptive social and economic impact of AI. My focus is on turning cutting-edge breakthroughs into real-world solutions that benefit society.

Louis-François Bouchard

My AI journey began in 2019 during my systems engineering degree, when I won an emoji classification competition and discovered a passion for applying research to real-world problems. In 2020, I pursued a Master’s in AI, became Head of AI at a startup, and launched a YouTube channel to teach AI concepts. These experiences revealed a gap between academia and industry, inspiring me to co-found Towards AI in 2022 to bridge that divide. In 2024, I left my PhD in medical AI to focus on building real-world AI solutions. Creating impactful AI products requires more than research. This is why the TAI team of experts and I have identified the essential tech stack for adapting a large language model (LLM) to a specific use case and achieving a sufficient threshold of accuracy and reliability for scalable use by paying customers. With Towards AI Academy and some key projects in our pipeline, like our From Beginner to Advanced LLM Developer course and our book, we aim to help you develop this toolkit.
